The Ugly Pits

so have you ever gotten ready to go out and you are trying on all sorts of styles and you find sometime at your wonderful soiree that you have white streaks all down your good clothes? also have you ever been dancing the night away and suddenly see that you look like a NFL linebacker after a game? or even in the worst case get a wiff of yourself or a dirty look and figure out that its you that smells like a loaf of salami? well here are some ways to prevent this or fix these situations

PREVENTION FOR STREAKS
-put on deodorant after fully dressing
*be careful, white solid deodorants can cake on the outside if you are wearing a tank top or black
-use quick drying gels or roll ons-get an all day deodorant that you don't have to reapply once it soaks into your skin for the day

PREVENTIONS FOR ARMPIT SWEAT STAINS
-get prescription strength deodorant
*secret clinical strength sport or classic mitchum works best.
-blot underarms with a paper towel or simply place small cutlets inside your shirt.
-reapply deodorant frequently

IN CASE YOU WERE A LITTLE TOO LATE...

STREAKS
-carry a dryer sheet or baby wipe to gently clear it off your clothes, you may feel like a doofus carrying a dryer sheet with you but it seriously works.
-wet a paper towel in the bathroom and blot at the streak, do not rub!
-baby wipes also do wonders if you BLOT the stain.

SWEAT STAINS OR MARKS

- head to the nearest bathroom and check for the points where you are most sweaty
-blot areas with paper towel or toilet paper
- squeeze the underarms of your shirt with a paper
-if there is a hand dryer, try to turn nozzle towards yourself to dry out some

ODOR!!!!!!!
-wet a paper towel and put hand soap on it.
-take off your shirt(s) in a stall.
-scrub your underarms with the wet paper towel to get the stink off.
-you may need to repeat the above twice
- carry body spray to slightly cover up what had soaked into your shirt.

well hopefully this insight helps many ladies with their underarm problems :)
as for now, I'm signing off.

The Death of A Black Tie Affair

it seems more and more the youth of today is slacking on the dressing up, and turning every day into a casual friday. the children are being taught to dress down to go out. throw on some sweats with a shirt and head to the black tie affair. throughout history the clothes a person wore was almost a symbol of their status and intelligence. it used to be, up until about thirty years ago, that a person wouldnt think about going out of the house without being properly presentable. ladies wore gloves almost everywhere they went, and gentlemen almost always had on a hat.
as our lives get busier and busier, that may contribute to the american citezen looking this way. we look for comfort, not style.

The Life of an Average American Teenager

my life all began at the good Samaritan hospital, in Dayton Ohio, on august 8Th 1994. my loving parents are Julie and Chris baker. i was my mother's first born child and my father's fourth born girl. by my first birthday, i could clearly speak to others around me. i also could fully direct anyone around me to get what i wanted in a full sentence. i partially credit my grandmother who for the first 18 months of my life made me sit around watched soap operas all day while my parents were at work.
at a year and a half i began attending the
Dayton Jewish community center. i was a very stubborn young child. when all the children would lie down to nap, i would always lie awake. (ironically enough i sleep a lot in class now. man i wish that i had those naps back!!!!) this came to the point in which i would go into a separate room while all the other children slept and played with toys by myself. though that was about the only time i played by myself. i always had someone around me. in preschool i had a little boyfriend named Casey mcmeredo. we would play house and hold hands in line. we were "dating" until the summer after third grade.
soon enough i started kindergarten here, at my present school, national trail. i have been in this very building since day one. in kindergarten we had a day and b day, which i the students only went to school every other day. i was a b day student in Mrs. van ausdal's class. this was so nice, but everyone knows kindergarten is a joke.

so on to first grade. the most memorable thing i remember from this year is my friend holly moving to Ohio. she was a sweet little girl from Kentucky. we became best friends almost instantly. granted we were weird, but we still had so much fun. we would go around playing like we were cats, vampires, witches, or other mystical creatures. gosh that was fun! but throughout the next couple years nothing super interesting or significant really happened throughout the rest of elementary except the summer after second grade.
this is when i had a very significant moment i a girls life happen to me, as you could probably guess, my first kiss. remember the Casey guy above? well that's the guy. it was at djcc summer camp on a field trip. it just so happened to fall that we were going to splash moraine on my 8Th birthday. the water park was so fun! on the way home, tired from being out in the sun and running around all day i leaned my head on Casey's shoulder in the travel van. he told me to put his scooby doo towel over my head so that i could sleep, so i did. i was laying under the towel and he got under it with me and we kissed. Avril Levine complicated was playing on the radio on z93 (before fly 929). just one little peck and my life was changed. okay that seems lame now but it was super cute then!! oh yeah, i couldn't forget the roots of my shoe obsession. i used to wear these ridiculous chunky bread loaf hooker shoes that a ten year old should not be wearing. i had them in almost every color. most of them were at least three inches tall. what on earth was i thinking?
well again nothing super extraordinary happened for the next couple years. then came middle school. to start off fifth grade i came in with high heeled flip flops, plaid mini skirt, generation one ipod and a messy bun. i seriously thought that i was hot you know what with my official b cup bras and brand new curves to come along with it. you know as i am writing and recollecting all this, you couldnt even fathom how much i want to hit myself back then. anyways, with my little mini skirts i was getting a lot of attention. especially from mrs. holmen. she was the dumb bleeeeeeeeep that made my life a living hell all through 5th grade. every limit or rule that i even got close to breaking she was on my behind. that brings me to stamp cards aka the dumbist way to teach kids responsiblity. i would always forget my stamp cards and i wouldnt be able to do jack diddly. i was in stamp debt up to my eyeballs. at one point i was in the red about 100 stamps. eventually i got out of the hole and had fun but man i hated those things.

it seems like I've been here FOREVER, right?

going through the years in national trail education, i have learned that school only prepares you for the so called "real" world with scary jobs, bills and most importantly, uncertainty.
